The first exhibition of the Qatari art in Croatia

For the first time in Croatia an exhibition of one of the Qatar’s artists will be held as a part of the upcoming International Festival Marco Polo ‘’Silk Road – The Path of Dialogue’’. The festival will take place in the city of Korčula from 23rd to 27th of August 2017 under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, The Ministry of Tourism, The City of Korčula and the Croatian Tourist Board.

Amal Al Aathem, an artist who graduated from Art Academy at the Qatar University in 2005, has presented her artwork at several domestic and foreign exhibitions so far. She also worked at the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture, Art and Heritage, where she currently holds the position of the head of the art center.

Apart from Qatar, at this year's International Festival Marco Polo, countries including China, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, India, South Korea, Iran, Indonesia, Bulgaria and Croatia will also be presented. The host’s wish is to spread understanding of the importance of the culture of dialogue and acceptance of diversity with the aim of educating, interacting and connecting the countries of The Way of Silk for their future intercultural cooperation.
